Where do our ingredients come from?

The overwhelming majority of our ingredients are grown by hand on our family farm in Saint Helena, CA.  Since the farm’s inception in 2012 we have utilized zero chemicals of any kind, including Certified Organic ones.  The only treatment protocol that the garden has ever received are the Biodynamic recommendations provided by Rudolf Steiner.  For the uninitiated, this is the cleanest and most holistic organized method of farming that has been born in a post-industrialized environment, and it is now entering its 100th year in existence.

Those who are familiar with Biodynamics might well know that the result of these methods are crops (in our case botanicals) which take on an extraordinary depth of quality and nutrient density, resulting in far more efficacious products. 

All of our ingredients are dried onsite immediately after being picked by hand with the utmost discernment.  We infuse most of them into Biodynamic Olive Oil through our solar and lunar infusion process (no artificial heat or pressure) before cold pressing them by hand after one moon cycle.  We also distill some of these botanicals onsite in our copper still to produce the Hydrating Essence collection as well as to produce the essential oils featured in a few of our other products. 

If we did not grow the ingredients on our farm, then you can rest assured in knowing that we have gone to great lengths to source the absolutely highest quality of ingredients available, and we would never support industrial, monoculture agriculture.  We network all around the country with small passionate farmers and wild harvesters who share our dream for a clean, healthy Earth.
